Winter and research with microscopes

I often found that during winter time scientists patiently go about their job without restriction and discover pretty amazing stuff…

Today, I make a pledge of research nobility. I want to fully uncover as many things about microscopy as possible. Well, this is the same one I did a couple of years ago when I was younger. Those were certainly the days. My father always took the time to show me the ropes during research.  It represented moments for us to bond and still discover microscopy at its best. We had a laboratory in the house, safely kept away from the rest of the mansion, in order to provide intimacy during work. Every day we invested time in seeing as much as possible into the microscopic world, a complex and thriving piece of work which puzzled me. I decided in those happy days to become a scientist, more precisely a biologist. I loved the animal world, insects and cells. They were interesting and worth my time, not to mention that my dad was one.

Biology represented my first step into the scientific world, one that I never forgot. I loved every moment studying to become a biologists. My classmates were day dreaming whereas I tried to pay attention. I did my job well, and now microscopes are still my best friends, occupying an important place in my life. I tell you this: some dreams are worth fighting for, especially in fields like biology where the “fun” never ends. I hope more children begin their scientific journey at an early age. They will definitely love what they discover along the way.

Why do science can’t do without microscopes

Research away with microscopes

There is a general consensus in the scientific world: researchers can’t do without microscopes. These research tools are needed to uncover the characteristics of various specimens. Starting with biology, medicine, pharmacology, geology, petrology and metallurgy, microscopy leaves its mark. Without the use of professional microscopes scientists can’t understand what makes a particular specimen work. The right research microscope will gives people the chance to see the structure and specific particularities of various specimens. Clear data significantly improves the quality of a research projects. This is probably why people spend a lot of time going through reviews when they have to invest in a microscope. It is recommended to know exactly what the tool can bring to the table.

As we said earlier, science is to some degree dependent on the functionality of the microscope. The research tool will improve or ruin a project. Obviously, people want to use a tool that can bring them closer to accomplishing various objectives. There is no room for error when serious research thrives in a laboratory. Now, you should always to your homework before choosing one particular model of microscopes. Fortunately the market is more than equipped to offer diversity. Anyone can opt for a good microscope, especially after knowing exactly what to look for. It is easier to pick out a microscope once you go through professional articles, reviews or product descriptions.

Simple ways to discover hidden microscopic worlds

Exploring microscopic secrets

First of all, I am a teacher. Five days a week I enter the classroom and teach biology to students. This is a field that often brings to light more about the human condition than any other field. Biology, in all of its extent represents a science that has to do everything related to the human body. Students find such subjects pretty boring. In such conditions I resort to one trick: compound microscopes. These research instruments offer a clear and detailed view of tissues, blood cells, hair follicles, nails and many more. It is important for children to understand more about the tiniest things of the organism. What the naked eye can’t see, microscopes offer assistance. Furthermore, I observed that children love watching different things under the microscope. It is pretty refreshing to see child gasp in amazement and question everything that they see. Making children question things is exactly what brings joy to day to day teaching.

Teachers relate to what I’m saying. Keeping kids interest to the subject at hand can be difficult but not something impossible, especially if we offer them interesting research instruments. As you can imagine, children react amazingly to new things, new ways to study. Fortunately in 2014 schools can afford different microscopes, capable of offering joyful insights into the microscopic world. The growing need for scientific fields in schools, a demand coming from thousands of parents, has enabled schools to allocate more funds to such investments. Children benefit from such decisions and teachers are happy to offer hours of fun and study enthusiasm. It comes as no surprise to see the growing interest for science and in particular biology. As a teacher I am happy to be part of this “mind revolution” and hopefully in the following years it will continue to capture the hearts of children.

The time has come to invest in our children’s capacity to explore and understand the world around them! Sounds like a great plan, no?
